Mr Amir Darakhshan is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon. His areas of special interest include Inflammatory Bowel Disease (for which he is the surgical lead), the management of Pelvic Floor disorders, and Laparoscopic Surgery. His role in the St Thomas House SaIL Centre reflects his other main interest of Education and Surgical Training.
He graduated from King’s College Hospital and received his surgical training in London and the South East of England, plus Fellowships at Concord General Repatriation Hospital in Sydney, St Thomas’ Hospital and University College Hospital. He was awarded the higher degree of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2008 and has published on General Surgical, Colorectal and Pelvic Floor disorders.
Outside work he enjoys trekking, cycling, painting and drawing and plays chess socially, hobbies that allow him to spend time with his wife and 3 children.
