There is an increasing number of specialist hospital areas undertaking procedural sedation, combined with a reducing pool of anaesthetic support there is a growing need to develop skills in recognising risk and deterioration, and to react appropriately to enhance patient safety. This inter-professional course intends to utilise multiple modalities to explore technical and non-technical skills relating to sedation and airway management in the non-theatre environment. including pharmacology of sedative agents, intermediate level airway support, management of unanticipated intubation and unplanned extubation and how speciality teams interface across pathways. This course intends to address technical and non-technical skills to enable enhanced patient safety and understand of each other’s roles.
