Dr Mary Lavelle is a Research Fellow in Simulation and Patient Safety at King’s College London, who joined the team in June 2015.

She has experience of communication research in both clinical and non-clinical settings.  Her doctoral research employed novel motion capture techniques alongside video analysis to explore communication deficits in psychiatric populations.

At SaIL, she applies communication research techniques to the context of clinical simulation in order to explore clinical practice, evaluate current training and provide empirical evidence to inform future training and patient care.
